Properties of Waves:
Students will learn that there are 5 properties of waves that every wave will have whether they Mechanical waves, Electromagnetic waves or Matter waves. We will discuss Wave Length, Wave Frequency, Wave Amplitude, Wave Speed & Wave Period as these are the 5 properties of every wave in the universe. |
Relationship Between Electromagnetic Waves: Electromagnetic Spectrum & How Humans See
Students will learn how Electromagnetic waves make up the Electromagnetic Spectrum. We will discuss that a small amount of light (photons) between the Infrared waves & Ultraviolet waves is the only light a human can see. Students will learn that the human eye has rods & cones that detect these Electromagnetic waves which is why we see visible light.

Relationship Between Vibration: Medium of Travel & How Humans Hear
Students will learn how vibrations from an object lead to humans hearing sound. We will discuss how the medium through which mechanical sound waves travel (solids, liquids, or gases) affects how we hear the sound and what frequency the sound is registered by the brain.

Wavelike Properties in Sound, Light & Earthquakes:
Students will learn that Sound Energy, Light Energy & Earthquake Energy all have wavelike properties. They will learn the difference between Longitudinal Waves & Transversal Waves and how they relate to sound, light, & seismic energy.
